History
Kalcon, Inc, established by George Kalogerson in 1978, has evolved through
generations of construction expertise. Originally specializing in residential projects, Kalcon Inc. later shifted its focus to crafting precision airplane hangars. Inspired by his father’s legacy, David Kalogerson ventured into the construction realm, founding his own constrution company in 2013. Witnessing exponential growth, David’s zeal for innovation led the company to excel in high-end hospitality projects. With steadfast support from his trusted confidant, Justin Youngbluth, the company emerged as a leader in Twin Cities’ hospitality construction landscape. After ownership changed in early 2024, David and Justin remained undeterred, joining forces once again to establish K2 Construction LLC. Committed to upholding the Kalogerson family’s construction legacy, K2 Construction embodies a new chapter of excellence and dedication to unparalleled craftsmanship.
Our Team

David Kalogerson
David Kalogerson is a distinguished graduate of Penn State University, boasting both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architectural Engineering. His credentials include LEED certification (LEED-AP) and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) exam. David’s worldly perspective was enriched through an enlightening study abroad experience at the University of Leeds, England. David’s prior role as Founder & President at his previous company from 2013 to 2024 underscores his exceptional leadership abilities. Before assuming executive positions, he honed his construction management skills as a Project Manager at Diversified Construction Company and Zeman Construction Company, amassing over two decades of industry expertise. Notably, even amid his academic endeavors, David displayed a steadfast commitment to construction, demonstrated through his employment at the Office of Physical Plant in Pennsylvania and his involvement in quality control research for The Pentagon renovations in Arlington, Virginia. David’s academic and professional journey epitomizes an unwavering pursuit of excellence in construction management, ensuring unmatched quality and leadership in every project.

Justin Youngbluth
VICE PRESIDENT
Justin is an esteemed graduate of the University of Minnesota where he holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture with a focus on Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. This unique blend of technical and managerial skills allows him to excel in complex construction environments. Justin has a proven 20+ year track record of successfully managing numerous complex construction projects during his time in the Air Force and at Mortenson Construction when he managed the entire foundation of the Sprint Center Arena in Kansas City, MO. More recently, as Vice President, he was a key member of the executive team that helped grow Mr. Kalogerson’s previous company as a start-up company in 2013 from $340k in revenue to over $20M in revenue within 5 years. He is also a dedicated mentor, having trained and developed numerous personnel in Project Management and Site Superintendent roles. Overall, Justin Youngbluth brings a wealth of experience, technical knowledge, and leadership skills to any construction project.
